A Letter From Our Director

Dear Theatre Friends and New Faces,

Well, isn’t this a delightful moment? As I sit down to type this letter, I am bubbling with excitement and gratitude to join the family of Playhouse in the Park, Murray, KY as Executive Director. Whether you’ve been with us since the curtain first rose in 1977 or you’re just joining our theatre family, your support and enthusiasm are what make our stage truly shine.

For those who don’t know me yet, I’m Wayne Shields-Hogue, and I’m thrilled to be part of this vibrant community that has such a rich history and a bright future. With degrees in theatre from Murray State University (BS) and Wayne State University (MA), I am thrilled to put my knowledge to work at PIP!

But that is enough about me, our theatre has always been a magical place where stories come to life, dreams take center stage, and every performance is a shared adventure. And let me tell you, I’m ready to add to the spark that is with this already brilliant ensemble!

Our theatre is more than just a building; it’s a lively, ever-evolving community. Your laughter, your applause, and your presence at our performances are the magic ingredients that make our theatre a cherished destination.
